Val Puhl

Biography

As a Hair Stylist and Make-up Artist, Val has had many years of experience, since her graduation from the School Of Cosmetology in Vancouver, B.C. in 1968. She carried out her apprenticeship in an International Salon along with German, Danish, Swiss and Portuguese members, learning the European ways.

Val opened her first Salon in Chilliwack, B.C., with a staff of 12 Stylists, encompassing the complete profession, such as, Electrologists, Estheticians, Make-up Artists and Nail Technicians. Over the years that followed, changing locations, she opened 2 more Salons. .
Many people consider Stylists to be artists. Val is no exception. She has received recognition for her works in both quilting and painting, through juried competitions. However, it must be stated, that without the guidance of her mentor, Dorothy Nylin, she most definitely would not have achieved the level of knowledge, recognition for her works, or love of quilting that she has today.

Val is very excited about her association, with the extremely talented and professional members of Nine Patch Media.
